K2 Pure Solutions is currently looking for an Instrumentation and DCS Controls Engineer to be a key member of the team presently engaged in the planning and design of K2’s network of membrane cell Chlor-Alkali bleach plants across the United States.

Reporting to K2’s Director of Engineering, candidates are expected to have a University degree in Engineering and a minimum of five years work experience in the chemical industry, preferably in Chlor-Alkali.

This position will be located either in Akron, Ohio or Toronto, Ontario.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Procuring of the DCS, instruments, and controls
  • Programming of the DCS
  • Assisting in creating the P&IDs
  • Supervising the building of the DCS panels (main panel, remote I/O panels, etc.)
  • Coordinating integration of the DCS with a remote management software package
  • Writing specifications for instruments, control valves, etc.
  • Creating control loop drawings
  • Creating DCS electrical interconnect drawings
  • Site commissioning & startup of DCS and instruments
  • Setting up of maintenance program for the DCS, instruments, and controls (including spare parts)
